Job Description:
The Inventory Manager is responsible for overseeing stock levels, maintaining accurate inventory records, and ensuring the timely replenishment of products. This role involves analyzing inventory trends, integrating stock data with sales and accounting systems, and leveraging technology to streamline inventory operations. The ideal candidate combines organizational skills, analytical thinking, and familiarity with retail IT tools to optimize stock management and reduce costs.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Monitor inventory levels daily using inventory management software and POS systems
Analyze product movement trends to forecast demand and prevent stockouts or overstock situations
Coordinate with suppliers for timely ordering, delivery scheduling, and stock replenishment
Perform regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies with sales and accounting records
Track product shelf life and manage rotation to reduce waste
Generate and analyze reports on inventory turnover, shrinkage rates, and product profitability
Integrate inventory data with accounting systems to maintain accurate cost and valuation records
Collaborate with the Data Analyst to assess stock performance and adjust purchasing strategies
Maintain organized storage areas and ensure proper labeling and categorization of products
Implement barcode scanning, RFID, or other digital tracking tools to improve inventory accuracy
Train staff on proper inventory handling and system updates.
Qualifications:
Experience in inventory management, preferably in a retail or FMCG environment
Proficiency with inventory management software, POS systems, and Excel/Google Sheets
Understanding of accounting concepts like COGS and inventory valuation methods (FIFO, LIFO)
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make decisions
Attention to detail and problem-solving ability
Good communication skills to work with suppliers, management, and team members
Requirements
Minimum Education: High School or GED
Physical Requirements: Ability to maneuver and regularly lift and or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Ability to stand/walk 8 hours a day; reach overhead, bend, squat, twist, reach, grasp and grip and work in cooler (cold temperatures). The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
